SEO FAQ
HOMEBack Links
- Links from anywhere are good?
- NO! Be careful, some pages are blacklisted, meaning link-farms or pages full of links.. are not good, and Google will actually take these pages and make them into negative PR pages (so if they link to you, they hurt you)
- What are Back Links?
- Back Links are links targeted at your content/website from another site. These are great, the more websites pointed at your website, the more "popular" Google Algorithms figure your website is, and the higher the PageRank.
- Where should I get links to my website?
- First of all, the best way is to not ask/know, if you have good content people will get to you without your asking.
If you do want to get out there a bit, SEO directories are not a bad place, Blogs, etc. Websites with content relating to your content is ideal (i.e if you own a catering business, food-related sites linking to you are ideal)
Rule of Thumb: If the page you are hoping to get a back-link from has a PR of 3+ go for it, just keep checking to see if it goes up, and see if it goes from 3+ to N/A (this could be Google checking up).
